Technical Facilities Manager
Role Overview

The successful candidate will be based in the Dublin office supporting clients within the Dublin Region. The candidate will oversee multiple contracts, offer expert technical guidance across the wider portfolio, and play an active role in shaping and enhancing our technical service capabilities. The candidate will ideally be trade qualified, with a management background or seeking to progress into management. The full is a full time and permanent.
Role responsibilities
The Technical Facilities Manager will report to the General Manager supporting the management team in the delivery of existing FM contracts with responsibility for the management of hard services for both PPM, reactive works and client projects. The candidate must have a strong technical background in either Electrical or Mechanical. This is a dynamic, high-visibility role where excellent client engagement and supplier coordination skills are essential.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
o Provide strategic hands-on management of the technical components within client contracts, ensuring alignment with client expectations and industry best practices.
o Alongside the management of their own contracts, the candidate will collaborate with peers to support the technical delivery across a wider range of client accounts.
o Lead and support the ongoing development of technical services to maintain a leading position in the industry and respond to emerging trends and client needs.
o Responsible for all day-to-day management, control, co-ordination, execution of all operations under their remit and reporting directly to the General Manager.
o Take full responsibility for all quality, environmental and health & safety issues and ensure compliance with company policies and arrangements including the effective closing out of audit action plans.
o Compliance with all contractual requirements.
o Compliance with all statutory regulation.
o Ensure client satisfaction and a high quality of services are provided.
o Management of operational budgets and reporting.
o Ensure all valid contractor invoices are approved for payment within agreed terms.
o Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts where possible.
o Identifying and implementing innovations to improve service delivery.
o Provision of technical advice and problem-solving function.
o Provide management support as required.
o Conduct regular site audits to ensure that the specified standard of work is maintained and all site logs and documentation are kept up to date.
o Ensure the development and potential of all direct reports, to encourage resilience and succession planning within the organisation.
o Ensuring the availability of and if required participation in the provision of a 24 hour per day 365 days per year emergency on call service as required.
o Manage ordering and procurement compliance across all sites.
o Ensure all real-time and asset information is updated and systems employed correctly across all sites (CAFM)
Candidates must possess:
o Formal technical education or diploma equivalent qualification level. Ideally of an electrical or mechanical background.
o A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an FM or building services maintenance in a position of authority.
o Strong technical ability with a good understanding of building services and equipment
o Previous experience of managing people.
o Excellent time management and self-motivational skill set.
o A pro-active attitude.
o Excellent communication skills including verbal and the written word.
o Competent report writer and ability to present information in a clear, accurate and concise manner in good English
o Excellent computer literacy, in particular CAFM, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and experience of the latest IT applications
